Is exfoliating really necessary?

Exfoliating is necessary for the health and appearance of your skin if your goal is “younger looking skin.” Exfoliating strips the outer layer of your skin and removes dull skin and dirt. Also, it increases the blood circulation and brightens and improves the overall appearance of your skin. Exfoliating is an excellent regimen for aging skin. Improper exfoliating can lead to skin irritations and inflammation. If not done correctly, it could do more harm than good.

How many times should I exfoliate?

Many of us over-exfoliate. Again, exfoliating strips the outer layer of your skin. The outer layer is the thinnest, but it’s responsible for protecting us from the harsh environment. Removing this layer by peeling the skin will look smoother, brighter, and younger. We reason,” the more, the better.” That is not true because the new skin needs time to develop into a new protective outer layer. Your skin naturally sheds dead skin cells to make room for new cells every 30 days or so. To help nature along exfoliate once or twice a week. If you have oily skin, you can exfoliate three or four times a week.

What is a physical exfoliation?

Manual exfoliation using DIY scrubs, cleansing scrubs, natural body brushes, and loofahs.
And the Benefit? Ease of access! You can do it at home, offers immediate results, and is inexpensive.

Excellent and safe recipes to exfoliate

Raw HoneyYears ago, I started to use Honey as a daily face and body skin wash. At that time, I was not aware of the benefits of Honey. My friends labeled me “Crazy,” but eventually they saw the results and started to use it , too.

I had read an article about Honey and was convinced. Nowadays, Honey, as a beauty treatment, has become mainstream.

  • Aging: Full of antioxidants, it is excellent for slowing down aging. Use it daily, and you will have radiant skin.
  • Complexion: It is incredibly moisturizing and soothing, it helps create a glow, your skin feels like baby skin. Do yourself a favor and try it out. You’ll love it immediately.
  • Acne: Honey is naturally antibacterial, so it’s great for acne treatment and prevention. And it really does help.
  • Pores: Honey is clarifying because it opens up pores, making them easy to unclog.
Quark: Quark is mostly unknown in the United States.German-speaking countries are familiar with quark and consider it for all kinds of recipes.

Recently I discovered that some grocery stores begin to carry flavored quark. (Check at Aldi’s)

A quark mask against wrinkles can do wonders for your face – try it and find out for yourself.

It’s anti-inflammatory and tightens the skin, also use it to draw out impurities and blemishes.

Sugar: Sugar is a natural source of glycolic acid, which is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA). AHA helps to resurface the skin, even skin tone, and reduce the look of wrinkles. Glycolic acid is a favorite of dermatologists for chemical peels. Sugar body scrubs seem to be the favorite for us.
Papaya: Recently, I have tried several papaya masks, which I love. Why? Because papaya contains the enzyme, Papain. Enzymes can decrease scars, fine lines, age spots, and discolorations of the skin. It also removes dead skin cells and inactive proteins and hydrates as well; as a result, it rejuvenates your skin. As with all masks or facial scrubs, you need to do it for an extended period to see the results. An additional benefit using papaya it will not damage ar remove live skin cells.
Banana: Do you know that a banana is “Nature’s Botox?” This fruit contains super wrinkle fighting nutrients that also fade age spots and fine lines. Bananas contain moisture, Vitamins E and C, and potassium, all ingredients which promote clear glowing skin. Mix a mashed banana with one TB of raw Honey and 1/2 tsp of fresh squeezed lemon juice
Oatmeal: My daily soap. Ground oatmeal is gentle, anti-inflammatory and full of antioxidants, which makes it an excellent regular cleaning paste.
Buttermilk: Regular use of buttermilk helps tighten the skin and keeps it wrinkle-free and youthful. Spots and other blemishes are controlled and get diminished in time with regular use of buttermilk. Here is an easy fix before you take a shower: Soak a cotton ball with buttermilk and apply to face and body. Wait for 10 minutes and wash off easy-peasy but great benefits. Twice a week, you could use buttermilk as an exfoliator. Apply buttermilk and use your body brush and gently start at your ankles and move with circular motions towards your heart.
A mixture of honey and egg can enhance the benefits of using buttermilk.
It was good to let you know what I learned. Hopefully you will start to exfoliate continiously and will have visible results in a few weeks.  Let me know how you are doing anf if you have any questions. I will gladly answer each one of you.

Sending blessings you way,
